Having an all in one not only lets you avoid drying toners but it ensures that all the excess oils and dirt and washed off your face. This is also an important step because you always want to apply your makeup on a squeaky clean face. 2. Exfoliate a few times a week. Exfoliating daily isn't recommended for everyone because some people with sensitive skin can have bad reactions to it. This doesn't mean that it shouldn't be done though. Exfoliating helps sloth off the dead skin cells that accumulate on our skin and if not removed it can leave noticeable blotches on your face. 3. Become a mixologist. If you’re interested in getting your face clean and smooth but don’t know what order to use your non prescription skin care products in there is no harm in using them together. Washing your face with a cleanser and exfoliator of your choice means you can cut your skin care routine by a little and know that you’re getting the job done right. 4. Use sunscreen daily. Nothing will kill your face like the rays of the sun do no matter how pretty it makes you look. Using even an SPF 20 is enough to protect your beautiful skin while letting enough sun to give you a sunkissed glow. If you feel that you aren’t getting enough color you can also make it up with bronzer. 5. Embrace retinol and AHA’s. Retinol is a secret weapon that a lot of people are afraid of because they don’t know how to use it correctly. If too much is applied and sunscreen is ignored it can make your skin red, irritated and uncomfortable. The best way to use retinol is to start with a small amount at night and gradually work your way up. Retinol is an exfoliant that helps the with cellular rejuvenation, drastically reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and leaves your skin looking even and bright after about a week of use. The only caveat is that sunscreen MUST be used during the day. But you already use it daily, right? All in all sticking to these basic tips can help get your skin ready for time out in the sun as well as prep it for makeup application. The better your skin is naturally, the less makeup you’ll need to use to cover up imperfections and give you an even, flawless look.
