Home Made Masks For Winter Refreshing of Facial Skin

 

 

Extremely low temperatures, cold winds and lack of sunlight during the winter days will cause your facial skin to become pale and lose that fresh youthful glow that we all aim to achieve. Moreover, the skin loses moisture and therefore when you are constantly moving from cold outside to a snug cosy heated room, the face begins to dry and in some cases even peel or crack .   Skin care in the winter is mandatory and at no point should be neglected or corners cut. Apart from a regular routine of  using a hydrating cream , it is recommended at least once a week to apply a natural facial mask.  Here are some recipes for masks that will aid with a gentle skin care routine and the bonus these recipes all are made without using harmful chemicals.  
  1. Dry Skin : Mask of avocado, carrot and olive oil :
  Dry types of skin are most affected by the winter cold. To refresh, soften and tender your face, make yourself a mask from one of the ingredients that is without doubt one of the most recommended for dry skin- avocado.  
  • ½ avocado
  • 1 big carrot
  • 1 small spoon of olive oil
  Begin with mashing a carrot. Then carve out the avocado, mix it with the carrot, and add a teaspoon of olive oil and mix the ingrediants until you make a paste.   Apply the mask onto a clean face and let it act on the face for 15 minutes. Wash your face with lukewarm water.  
  1. Oily Skin: Mask of pumpkin, lemon, honey and egg:
  Oily types of skin is a challenge in any season, not only in winter. One of the best home treatments for oily skin mask are ones made of pumpkin. Pumpkin is rich in zinc which controls facial oils and helps reduce the visibility of blemishes. Pumpkin provides a gentle exfoliations of the skin, without using abrasice particles.  
  • 2 tablespoons of finely grated pumpkin
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 large tablespoon of honey
  In small bowl mix the ingredients and stir well using fork or mixer. Apply a thin layer of mixture on clean skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave the mask for 15-20 minutes.  
  1. Normal Skin: Mask of lemon and yoghurt:
Clean pores on face with natural way by using a mixture of lemon juice and yoghurt. This unusual mixture will help you achieve a cleaner and certainly fresher facial skin area.  
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoon yoghurt
  After you mix the yoghurt and lemon juice, apply the mixture to the skin using circular movements. Gentle massage , this will also help to improve the circulation and to gain a healthy glow. Leave the mask on the face for about 10 minutes, and then wash the face with lukewarm water.  
  1. Combined Skin : Mask of honey and orange juice:
  Combined skin is problematic because different parts of the face should be nurtured and cared for  in a special way relative to that skin condition. If you use products that tend to dry out the skin, those parts of the face where  the skin is drier can become rosy and start peeling in winter. A mask with a mixture of orange and honey will help to soften and tighten facial skin, without irritating dry parts.  
  • 1 large tablespoon of honey
  • 1 large tablespoon orange juice
  Slightly warm the honey to mix easier with orange juice, then apply a thin layer of the face. Leave the mask for 10 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water.  
  1. For all types of skin : Mask of apple, carrot and olive oil:
  If you want a gentle treatment for your skin, make a rich mix of apple, carrot and olive oil.  
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated apple
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated carrot
  • 1 small teaspoon olive oil
  Warm the olive oil, but be careful not to be hot. Add the carrot and apple and stir well. Apply the mask on clean face and allow it to act twenty minutes.
