Before you begin to eliminate the problem of cracked hands, you should first know what causes the skin to become dry and rough to the touch. The most common reasons are:
  • Use of strong soap and hot water . Soaps that contain strong chemicals and hot water removes the natural oils from your hands and natural moisture, leaving the skin dry.
  • Frequently washing your hands. Even if you do not use strong soap, if you frequently wash your hands, your skin may become dry.
  • Regular exposure to detergents and cleaners. Just like soaps, detergents and cleaners are drying your skin.
  • Eczema. Eczema can cause redness, itching and dry skin.
  • Ageing. Skin changes as ageing. Hormonal changes that act during menopause can cause dry skin.
  • Sunbathing. Long exposure to sunlight reduces the moisture of the skin and not only dries out, but could lead to the appearance of brown spots.
  • Dry air. Extreme cold or hot days and low humidity are factors that contribute to dry skin on hands.
  • Dehydration. When your body is dehydrated, it reflects on the skin. Excessive use of alcohol or coffee can enhance dehydration.

Home Care For Dry Hands

  When someone touches your hands, they should be soft and shine with feminity. Choose any of the offered recipes and bring back the tenderness and silk touch of your hands back.
  1. Exfoliation with sugar and Olive oil
Through exfoliation, your skin will get rid of the dead layer of cells that lie on the surface and will clear the way for creams and other assets to smoothly work on your skin. Mix 3 tablespoons of sugar with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and rub your hand with this mixture. Massage with circular movements for 5 minutes, then wash your hands with warm, but not hot water. 2.      Softening with paste of honey and banana Honey has a miraculous effect on the skin, so warmly recommended for skin care of dry hands. You will need: 1 tablespoon honey, 1 banana, 1 lemon and  1 tablespoon butter. Grate the banana and add the honey and butter. Drain juice from lemon. Mix well, then apply the mixture on the hands. After 20 minutes, wash with lukewarm water. You will feel softening of the  skin in no time. 3.       Silky touch with Vaseline At night before you sit down to relax in front of the TV, wash your hands, wipe them so as they are completely dry and apply Vaseline. You will not be able to stop touching your hands from one another, because you will fall in love with the silky touch. If you suffer from extremely dry skin, before bedtime, apply a thicker layer of Vaseline and put your hands in cotton gloves. You will notice a huge improvement in the morning. 4.        Moisturising with yolk and almond oil Mix 1 yolk of egg and apply on your hands. Leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Finally apply almond oil on your hands. In this way, the skin will receive the needed moisture.


Apply a hydrating cream immediately after washing your hands, or showering. This will allowthe skin to best absorb the fluid completely and beautifully blown up the cream with gentle movements.
