However, this does not mean you have to stay in doors all summer long or in the shade. No sir, As long as you respect the basic rules for sunbathing, you can safely have fun on the beach,in the park or pretty much anywhere you desire.
Rule No.1 :
Choose a cream that has a protective factor (SPF) of at least the number 15. Do not go out in the sun if you do not have cream with SPF of at least number 15 on yourself.
Children and older people who have a sensitive skin should use cream with SPF at least of number 30. Infants, Children younger than 6 months should not be exposed to direct sunlight at all. Use a cream with a higher SPF if you are greater altitude, in a place with tropical climates or higher humidity. Also, you need to look for a cream offering protection from UVA and UVB rays.
Rule No.2 :
Read the labels. Substances such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are your allies in the protection from the sun, so choose creams that contain them. Avoid creams that are perfumed or in their composition substances that cause allergies. Before you coat your skin with a cream, first apply a small amount on the inside of your hand and wait to see if you develop an allergic reaction. If no visible signs of allergy, continue to use.
Rule No.3 :
Observe the expiration date. Almost all creams for tanning have a shelf life of 12 months. This means that the cream you bought last year and never got around to using will more than likely not be of use this summer and out of date.
Rule No.4 :
Apply the protective cream 30 minutes before sun exposure. In order to achieve the maximum protection, apply the cream 30 minutes before leaving the house.
Rule No. 5:
Apply enough cream to get desired protection. Most people inflict 25-50% of the recommended amount of sunscreen cream. The average adult should brush his/her body with 30 ml cream (small glass of tequila).
Rule No. 6:
Do not forget your neck, ears, scalp and lips. Many forget the tops of the ears and scalp when applying protecting cream. To protect your scalp, it is best to use spray tanning cream/lotion. The neck and face and shoulders, always should be more protected, meaning that you apply more cream to these areas, because they are most exposed to the sun. Protect your lips with a balm with SPF.
Rule No. 7:
Repeat the cream coating every 2 hours. Experts recommend to renew layer of protective cream every 2 hours. But if during that time you have practiced an activity that causes significant sweating or having fun in the water, then more of the cream should be applied immediately.
Use cream when it is sunny and when it is cloudy. Clouds in the sky are not an obstacle to UV rays. Even if it is not sunny, you should use protective cream on the beach, or when going out !

Avoid sunbathing from 10 am to 2 pm. Then the sun is strongest, and the damage done on the skin - the largest.
Rule No. 10 :
Gradually increase the exposure to the sun. Even if you want to quickly get a dark tan, you should not make the mistake and "bake" all the time in the sun on your first trip to the beach. The first day just stay out 10 minutes or so in the sun, and then gradually increase your time sunbathing every day. So this way, you get a nice tan and avoid nasty sunburn.
Rule No. 11:
Use sunglasses, your eyes will feel the adverse impact of the sun if you fail to protect them. Wear sunglasses that offer protection from UV rays.

Put the extra protection on. Indeed clothing provides protection from the sun, but keep in mind that clothing is not enough. Solar rays can easily penetrate through the light transparent material and reach your skin. If you use protective clothing, then choose materials with a dark color and not transparent. Cotton wide clothing is the best choice because it gives space to the skin to breathe. Do not forget to carry a cap or hat. Not only will you be fashionable, but will protect your face and your hair.
