10 Make up Tips and Tricks that are Worth Knowing

Women invest so much time in the daily rituals of beautification. To save the time taken on applying make up, we suggest a few practical tips and tricks from the make up experts who have studied their profession in detail and are not scared to share their professional secrets for our benefit:

If you do not want lipstick on your teeth , brush them with Vaseline.

Brush the front teeth under the upper lip with Vaseline to prevent part of the lipstick finishing on the teeth . This is an old Hollywood trick of the 40’s and used still today.

When you are tired and have red eyes, use eye drops.

Drops will eliminate red eyes. There is nothing more beautiful than those bright beautiful “clean “ eyes.

Blue eyeshadows are not for blue eyes.

If you are lucky enough to have blue eyes, do not use blue eyeshadows, because it will interfere and cover up the natural eye colour.

For longer and denser eyelashes, apply dust powder before applying make up on the eyes.

Using large powder brush, apply powder on the eyelids, before you start applying make up. Not only you will create an ideal base for shadows to be fixed for a longer time, but will make eyelashes longer and more attractive.  The powder that will fall on the lashes, along with applied mascara, will create the sort of paste that will increase the volume and visually make your lashes longer.

Apply beige eyeshadow under the eyebrows, to create the look of bigger and more open eyes.

Whenever your eyes look tired, you can instantly wake them up with the application of beige or white eyeshadow under the brow area. With this trick you will make your eyes look bigger and more open, because it will create the illusion of a small lifting of the eyebrows.

Black eyeshadows should not be used outside of the eyelids.

Black eyeshadow is advisable to be used on  the upper eyelid and under eye outlining, and should never be used above the upper eyelid or under the eyebrows, because it will create a chaotic appearance.

Test a new shade of lipstick on the top of your fingers.

Want to know how you would look with a new shade of lipstick ?Apply it on top of a finger. That area of the hands is closest to the colour and texture of your lips, so you can easily assess whether the hue is for you or not.

Apply a little blush on the temples.

Make up artists agree- blush is “must –have”for the complete look. Besides that you should highlight the cheek bones, make up artists recommend for a more natural look to inflict a little blush on the temples. Do not know where to apply blush on the cheeks ? Bend your head down for 30 seconds, slowly look up and immediately note that places on your cheeks that blushed . Another rule is to smile. While smiling, you will notice the face areas that need to be highlighted with blush .

For a perfect outlining with eyeliner, first draw the desired line with dotted lines.

Use eye pencil to mark the line, you will then draw a few short dashed lines. Start from the outer corner and draw as close to the lashes . Then, connect the short lines with liquid eyeliner. This will minimise the chances of error.

If you do not have eyeliner at the moment, apply black or dark blue, grey with a moist brush.

You do not have eyeliner? Not problem at all, moist a little water on top of thin hair make up brush and draw the brush into the shadow. You will notice that the colour of the eyeshadow is more intensive- perfect for outlining the eyes.
